Hey there, we’re Nina and Gillian!
We’re best friends who met at the school gates on our kids' first day of Junior Infants. Right away, we clicked and realised that, while we’re total opposites, we have loads in common. Raging feminism? Check. Parenting incredible autistic kids? Check. A love for gin and the amusing fact that both our husbands are named Rob? Check, check!
In the summer of 2021, we both found ourselves at a crossroads. We’d always joked about starting a business together, and after one long evening chat, we decided to finally go for it. On the first day of the new school term, we dropped the kids off and dove straight into building Sully and Juno. Three months later, we shipped our 1,500th order!
It’s been a whirlwind of highs and lows, and we’ve loved every minute. We’ve had some incredible “pinch me” moments too, like our first TV appearance on Ireland AM and winning the Late Late Show Business Special in 2022. We were also thrilled to win Best Start-Up at the County Wexford Business Awards that year. In 2023, we took home Best New Business at the Wexford Enterprise Awards, won Best in the South East of Ireland, and placed as runner-up at the National Enterprise Awards. This year has been just as exciting, with the Shopify 10,000 Customers Award, recognition from BAC le Gaeilge for our commitment to doing business in Irish, and the Best Newcomer award at Showcase.
We’re now sending thousands of our Irish language products abroad each year, and we’ve got so much more in store! Through it all, we’re still best pals, and we couldn’t have done it without our incredible team and brilliant customers.
